On 4 th November died our
friend, Wieslaw Słotwinski. Wieslaw was
the vice president of Krosno branch of the Polish Association of
Amateur Astronomers, one of the most active observers of occultation
events in the history of Polish section. His favorite field was the
observation of stars and asteroidal occultations. For several years he
took first place in the number of observed phenomena in Poland. Among
the students of the Public School Complex in Krolik Polski he instilled
the idea of discovering asteroids as part of the International
Astronomical Search Collaboration program. His team discovered four new
asteroids and made many unconfirmed discoveries by the end of 2018.
